1. What did you do in 2018 that you’d never done before?

Got paid commission for a piece of art I created.  Learned to cross-stitch.  Raised the money to attend Write Doe Bay in October in only 6 weeks without any donations  Had surgery (permanent sterilization yo!).  Did an Escape Room for the first time (and successfully unlocked the door in the hour given).  Visited the Washington State Capital.  Saw a movie in the theater 3 times (Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom).

We spent our first Christmas as a little family of four.  It was nice and quiet.  We ate a lot of candy.  In the afternoon, Scott's parents came over and we watched Christmas with the Kranks and Scott made us pork chops.  It was a pretty good day.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.

29. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?

I turned 38 this year.  On my birthday, I went to an Escape Room with Scott, Mom, Paul, and my friends Kate & Trish.  We escaped in the hour allotted!  Apparently only 30% of people complete it.  Then all of us except Trish went to Boundary Bay and I ate delicious macaroni and cheese.  The next day, I had friends over for a casual hangout and got to see some people I hadn't seen in a long time.  It was a nice time!

Immigration.

34. Who did you miss?

My sister Kira.  Christmas was really hard this year for some reason, and I was missing her a lot.  She lives in the same state, but we're still 8 hours apart and now that we both have kids in school we don't travel either way as often.  I'm hoping to make more time to be able to go visit her a couple of times a year now that it's financially more feasible and I have enough vacation time!

Yan Palmer.
